1. This is a novelty gift item
Martian Estate sells decorative, collectible "Deed of Gift" certificates and printed plats of survey referencing notional parcels on the planet Mars. No purchase made through this Site or any linked checkout partner conveys any real, legal, equitable, mineral, resource, orbital, or other property right in land on Mars or anywhere off Earth. Parcel boundaries, "estate valuations," acreage figures, and survey diagrams shown on this Site are illustrative and created for entertainment purposes; they do not correspond to any recognized cadastral or land registry.
2. Why no purchase can convey title
The Outer Space Treaty of 1967 (to which the United States, and most spacefaring nations, are party) provides in Article II that outer space, including the Moon and other celestial bodies, "is not subject to national appropriation by claim of sovereignty, by means of use or occupation, or by any other means." No government on Earth currently recognizes private claims to Martian land, and no private registry — including this one — has any legal authority to grant such a claim. Any suggestion elsewhere that a "deed" of this kind is legally enforceable is incorrect.
3. What you receive
Each order is fulfilled at one flat price, regardless of the parcel's displayed acreage or estate valuation. The Standard Gift Set includes one printed Deed of Gift certificate naming a recipient of your choosing, one printed plat of survey corresponding to the selected parcel number, and standard shipping. A Collector's Edition (with additional keepsake items) is planned but not currently available for purchase. Current pricing and any promotions are shown at checkout and are subject to change.
4. Displayed "estate valuations"
The per-parcel prices shown on parcel and browse pages on this Site are presented in the style of a real estate listing for atmosphere and are not the amount charged at checkout. The amount charged is the flat gift-set price shown at checkout.
5. Checkout partner
Purchases are completed on Square Online, operated by Block, Inc. ("Square"), a separate commerce platform. Square's own terms of sale, privacy notice, and payment terms govern the transaction itself, including how your payment and shipping information are handled. We are not responsible for Square's platform availability, but Martian Estate remains responsible, as the seller, for order fulfillment, product descriptions, and this novelty disclosure.
6. No resale market, no investment
Parcels, certificates, and plats sold here have no inherent monetary value beyond their value as a keepsake or collectible, are not securities or investment products, and should not be purchased with any expectation of financial return or appreciation.
7. Intellectual property
Plat designs, parcel numbering, and site content are the property of Martian Estate. Regional names used (e.g., Olympus Mons, Valles Marineris, Tharsis, Amazonis Planitia, Elysium) refer to real, publicly documented Mars surface features and are used descriptively.
8. Limitation of liability
The Site and its content are provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Martian Estate disclaims liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Site or reliance on any statement about a parcel's value.
